The Coronavirus (COVID-19) continues its worldwide advance. In Belgium too, we are not spared and the impact on our daily lives is enormous: children do not go can’t go to school, non-food shops and restaurants remain closed, where possible we work at home, social contacts are reduced to digital contacts,.... At BD myShopi we closely follow all developments in the fight against this virus and we have already taken the necessary measures to protect our employees, customers, partners and suppliers as much as possible. We have reduced contact with external parties to an absolute minimum, we are facilitating homework as much as possible and we are fully committed to all communicated hygiene procedures. In this way we ensured the continuity of our services so that the weekly leaflet package ended up in the Belgian mailboxes.

On 17 March 2020, the federal government communicated additional measures, a number of which have a far-reaching impact on the retail sector. These include

  • All shops and retail outlets are compulsorily closed, with the exception of (pet) food stores, pharmacies, newsagents, petrol stations, etc.
  • Social distancing becomes the rule: at least 1.5 metres between each person,
  • Access to department stores is restricted
  • Selling or discounting is prohibited
  • Food stores must only be open between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m.

As a result of these measures, we as a company are forced to suspend our activities. Protecting the health of all those involved in this activity and contributing to slowing down the number of infections by, among other things, complying with the strict guidelines referred to above is no longer compatible with continuing to carry out this activity. This implies that we can temporarily no longer distribute leaflets. In concrete terms, this means that there will be no distribution of leaflets from 22 March to 11 April (week 13 to week 15).

We are of course closely monitoring the situation. At the moment we plan to start distributing leaflets again on Sunday 12 April. This is subject to further measures and communication from the government.

  • Orders for week 16 (distribution from 12 April) can be placed. Order deadline for this is Friday 3 April 12h. These leaflets must be delivered to our logistics centre in Bornem by Monday 6 April at the latest.
  • Leaflets that are already in stock can also be distributed from Sunday 12 April (week 16). For this purpose, the order must also be placed at the latest on Friday 3 April at 12 noon (we make an exception to the standard order deadline which is 1 April).

We thank you for your understanding and will keep you informed. In this exceptional situation, it is crucial that together we take the necessary measures to contain the consequences of this Coronavirus.

Take good care of yourself and each other!
