  • Dankzij Beacon technologie, waarbij kleine apparaten in de winkelrekken en aan de ingang of parking geplaatst zijn, worden er via Bluetooth berichten verzonden naar de smartphone. Dit laat merken toe om gemakkelijker en relevanter met de consument te communiceren. In dit geval brengt Coca-Cola de consument op de hoogte van een promotie als hij/zij langs hun product loopt via een notificatie op de smartphone en een bijpassende Coca-Cola jingle.

    Eens de consument op de verkregen notificatie klikt, opent de myShopi app en toont deze een exclusieve cashback promotie. Deze promotie kan vervolgens meteen gebruikt worden in het winkelpunt en wordt achteraf terugbetaald op de bankrekening van de consument. Dit Beacon project werd in de zomer van 2014 in 10 Delhaize supermarkten gelanceerd.

    De Beacon technologie is een nieuwe technologie. De drie partijen hebben dit project uitgewerkt in een gezamenlijke drang naar innovatie. Ze bekijken, testen en evalueren verschillende pistes om winkelen en het leven van de consument gemakkelijker te maken door het gebruik van de nieuwste technologieën. De doelstelling van Coca-Cola Enterprises, Delhaize en myShopi in dit project is de toepassing binnen een supermarkt omgeving te evalueren om dit dan mogelijks op een grotere schaal te implementeren in België.
