BD myShopi nam eind 2019 intrek in de gebouwen aan Klein Mechelen te Bornem waar tot voor kort DHL huisde. Het toverde de beschikbare 16.000m² om tot haar centrale logistieke hub, van waaruit elke week reclamefolders vertrekken naar 4,5 miljoen brievenbussen over heel België. Tijdens de officiële opening van de site door eerste schepen van Bornem Jurgen Demaeyer op donderdag 13 februari kregen de 130 aanwezigen o.a. een uitgebreide rondleiding in warehouse en productie.

BD myShopi is marktleider in de bedeling van huis-aan-huis communicatie in de vorm van folders, productsamples en creatieve campagnes via de brievenbus. Het geloof in dergelijke offline consumentenactivatie is groot: 88% van de Belgen leest papieren folders, en spendeert daar elke week gemiddeld 19 minuten aan. Bovendien wordt 44% van de consumenten door de reclamefolders aangezet om naar de winkel te gaan, wat de folder tot een belangrijk medium maakt voor (lokale) retailers.

Vanuit de nieuwe locatie in Bornem zal BD myShopi ook de nieuwe pijler ‘smart logistics’ uitrollen. Die activiteiten kwamen onlangs in een stroomversnelling met de overname van CityDepot, een gespecialiseerde speler in groene stadslogistiek die beschikt over 6 strategisch gelegen depots. In deze depots, gelegen aan de stadsrand, worden goederen van verschillende transporteurs geconsolideerd en vervolgens uitgeleverd in het centrum met het oog op een maximale CO²-reductie.

Als op en top Belgisch bedrijf zijn we uitermate trots om in Bornem een nieuwe stap te zetten in de evolutie van onze business.
